Inspector Makes a Shocking Discovery

It’s time to make a pot of coffee.  The coffee pot is plugged into an outlet or receptacle.  The electricity for the outlet is usually derived from a subpanel.  The “subpanel” is a steel enclosure that houses circuit breakers which allow a measured flow of electricity through the circuit to the outlet.  Subpanels are housed in a steel enclosure with a steel cover for a reason.  SAFETY.  Personal safety and fire safety.  This is a photo of armchair electrical work in the extreme.  Someone who took bits and pieces from the inside of several subpanels, cut a hole in the wall and made his own.  This is a disaster waiting to happen.
